PROMARE is a blistering, grandiose and spectacularly designed sci-fi action-adventure in which the always half-naked firefighter Galo Thymos, “the world's number one firefighting idiot” takes on frenemy Lio Fotia, the young leader of Mad Burnish, the rebellious outcasts with pyro-kinetic powers. Thirty years ago, some people suddenly appeared to be able to spontaneously combust. As a result, most of Earth was destroyed in a massive world fire. The mix of colorful, dazzling images, exuberant action and self-conscious chatter is intoxicating; a hypnotic tornado of bright geometric patterns, pastel-colored flames and dizzying shots of an “electric neon” landscape.
